Scholarship
Encouraging students. Honouring achievement.
KMRF recognises students and encourages education through its scholarship programme. Guided by the teachings of Sufi saints like Hazrat Khwaja Mozammel Hoque (R:), this work is an expression of Sadka-E-Zaria, or continuing charity. KMRF dedicates resources to education as a lasting gift, intended to benefit individuals and society.

Recognition at an important stage of education

KMRF’s scholarship approach focuses on students in classes IX and X, before the Secondary School Certificate examination. It recognises top-three students in those classes and seeks to encourage their education.
Between 2012 and 2019, the programme also included JSC and JDC recipients. Across these stages, recognition and encouragement have remained its purpose.

Khwaja Tipu Sultan, Chairman
A lesson in care, shared with students
“May I develop the willingness to step forward and help with whatever is within my means.”
Khwaja Tipu SultanTranslated from Bengali.
At the 2023 scholarship gathering, Chairman Khwaja Tipu Sultan spoke about generosity in everyday life. His examples began close to home: helping parents, recognising another person’s greater need and stepping forward when someone is in difficulty.
He invited listeners to share another person’s sorrow and legitimate happiness, and to develop the willingness to help with whatever is within their means.
Listen to the address in Bengali or read its English translation. His words bring the gathering’s recognition of students together with a wider invitation to care for others.

If we set aside our small self-interests and give a little priority to the legitimate interests of others, it will not cause me any harm. 'No, brother, it is all right. I need the same thing too, but today your need is greater. You take it; I can take mine later.' We can gradually develop this self-sacrificing tendency.
We can help our parents in between our other work. May we feel sorrow at others' suffering and joy in their legitimate happiness. If someone is in trouble, may we extend a helping hand. May I develop the willingness to step forward and help with whatever is within my means.

Twelve students. Two schools. A beginning in Sirajganj.
KMRF’s scholarship programme began in 2001 with twelve students from two schools in Sirajganj. The Scholarship Program Journey display brings together photographs from those early years and later gatherings.
The photographs are part of the programme’s history: people assembling, students receiving recognition and occasions remembered by their year. Follow them alongside the films and annual figures to explore how the programme developed.

Programme history
The programme’s return in 2023
After the disruption of COVID-19, the scholarship programme resumed in 2023, recognising 620 students from 110 schools. In 2024, the programme recognised 688 students from 118 schools.
The 2025 film adds the next gathering to that history. The archive below keeps each programme year together with its student and school figures.
