Bangladesh is one of the least developed countries (LDC) of the world. Bangladesh also has one of the largest Muslim populations of the world. 85% of its population lives in the village, out of which 70% fall below poverty line. These people lack proper education, basic health and can hardly obtain daily ration of food. All of these people live in remote areas where they are not able to fulfill their basic needs. Poverty ruins the health and status of a society. The impact of poverty is directly reflected on the quality of life of the people.
These unfortunate needy poor people have to borrow money at extremely high interest rate in order to carry out their business activities for maintaining their family. More than 95% of these people continue to remain in debt throughout their lifetime. To improve the quality of life of the people in Bangladesh the most sustainable approach is to bring these people out of this poverty cycle.
Poverty alleviation is a major development program implemented by both the Government of Bangladesh and Non-Government Organization (NGO). All the poverty alleviation programs of Bangladesh have certain characteristics, which are not compatible to Islamic principles of life. In realization of this fact KMMF has developed its own model of social financing as "Sadka-E-Zaria" which is based on the teachings of the Holy Quran.
The main objective of this Foundation (KMRF) is to create a self-reliant opportunity for those groups of people who are able and willing to work to feed their families at least twice a day. For this reason, KMMF has taken a program entitled as Rehabilitation of the Needy Poor People (RNPP).
The financial assistance of the program of Rehabilitation of the Needy Poor People is absolutely non-refundable and "Sadka-E-Zaria" which is based on the teaching of the Holy Quran.
